Terms & Conditions
These terms apply to services and products supplied by MJC Passive Fire Ltd (company number 16708646, registered in England and Wales). Please read them together with your quotation. The terms supplied to you before you accept a quotation are the terms that apply to your contract.
1. Quotations
A quotation describes the proposed work, materials, price and the arrangements agreed for the project. Please check it before accepting. If an estimate depends on information or photographs, a closer assessment may be needed before the scope and price are confirmed. We will agree material changes with you before carrying out additional chargeable work.
2. Payment, deposits and special orders
Any deposit, staged payment, balance deadline, delivery cost or agreed storage charge will be set out before the quotation is accepted. We will explain the arrangements for items or products ordered specifically for the project. A special order does not automatically remove cancellation or faulty goods rights.
3. Scope of service
The agreed scope will distinguish between a survey, supply only, fit only, installation or remedial service.
- Survey: reports the observations within its agreed scope and access limits. Non-intrusive work does not examine concealed areas.
- Intrusive inspection, opening up and making good: must be agreed beforehand.
- Certification and scheme labelling: depend on the applicable scope and evidence. A record of specific work does not certify the whole building.
4. Cancelling
If you wish to cancel, contact us promptly. Any charge must be lawful, reasonable and supported by the work or unavoidable costs incurred, taking account of savings and the ability to reuse materials.
Where a statutory cancellation right applies to a distance or off-premises contract, we will provide the relevant information and cancellation procedure. If you ask for services to begin during a cancellation period, the required request and information will be recorded. Rules for genuinely bespoke goods are assessed separately from those for services.
5. Our service standard and your rights
We will provide the agreed service with reasonable care and skill. Please tell us promptly if you believe something is wrong so we can investigate and put it right where appropriate. There is no seven-day cut-off that removes rights available by law.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Consumer remedies and fair liability wording take precedence over blanket limitations.
6. Questions and complaints
For questions or a complaint, contact info@mjcpassivefire.co.uk or 01752 922571. We will investigate and explain the next steps.
7. Changes to these terms and your information
Later website changes do not retrospectively change an accepted contract. See our Privacy Policy for how we use your information.
